Vanilla planifolia

These unusual climbing orchids are the plants that the spice vanilla is produced from. Once pollinated they produce seed pods that can be collected and cured to produce the vanilla pods used in flavouring many dishes. That being said these are babies! It will take a few years and a few meters in height for them to reach flowering size so be patient with them!
